There's probably no early relationship milestone as loaded with meaning (and trepidation) as the first utterance of "love you." For most people, it signifies a commitment to someone that's intense and long-lasting. But it's not for everyone, and that's okay. A lot of people are more hesitant to say the word because they worry that if the person doesn't reciprocate, it could spell trouble for their relationship.
